My teaching style: My style of teaching is a blend of the many different types of yoga I have learned over the years along with my education in anatomy and psychology. I teach yoga to help people access a state of peace in their mind and body that we tend to lose connection with in our hectic lives. My classes are for every body type and age and I love to help people feel amazing about who and how they are. I tell bad jokes in my classes and try to keep the mood light while we are working hard. My yoga classes are just as much about training our minds as they are about training our bodies.

About me: I believe it’s important to laugh every day and not take yourself too seriously. My main goal as a mother and teacher is to incorporate joy into everything I do. I want the people in my life to smile when they think of me! My life has had many challenges throughout the years and I’ve learned how important it is to keep my perspective on the love and kindness that is all around us. Yoga taught me that challenging myself and working hard could be a happy experience. Life, like your yoga practice, should be filled to the brim with joy!

I’m inspired by: I have a beautiful sister who still lives in the States and she has been my inspiration since the day I was born. She is brave and creative and has taught me how to be myself with no apologies. She is a musician, an artist, and an all-around bad ass! When I turned 15 years old, she gave me my first John Lennon tape (because that’s how we listened to music back then!) and it changed my life! I feel like she raised me, along with John, and I could not have had better parents!

Soundtrack of your life: The soundtrack to “The Sound of Music” would be the soundtrack for my life. I feel like Maria when they describe her in the song “Maria!” These are the songs I used to sing to my kids before bedtime and I can never tire of them.
